A candle poured into a ceramic mug you keep. Burn it down, wash it out, and drink your morning coffee from it.

Blue is Nº4 Echoes of Oud. White is Nº11 Cedar & Pine. Cream is Nº20 Scandalwood.

Each mug holds 260 g of clean-burning wax — about 60 hours — then becomes a 400 ml mug for coffee, tea, or matcha. Hand poured in Oslo.

  • All-Natural European Soy Wax
  • 260 g clean-burning wax in a 400 ml ceramic mug. Lead-free cotton wick. No paraffin.
  • Hand poured in Oslo. Vessel made to last beyond the last burn.

Use & care

When the wax is gone, wash the mug out and drink from it. The empty Chiije Mug is the same vessel, sold without wax.

Caring for your Candle-Mug

Treat the first life as a candle, then the second as a mug.

While it is a candle
  • Place on a stable, heat-safe surface away from drafts, children and pets.
  • On the first light, burn long enough for the full surface to melt — up to four hours.
  • Do not burn more than four hours at a time after the first use.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Do not move it while the wax is hot.
  • Trim the wick to three to five millimetres when cool.
  • Stop burning when about five millimetres of wax remain.
When the wax is gone
  • Let the vessel cool fully.
  • Wash out remaining wax with warm water (not boiling) and a little soap.
  • The mug holds about 400 ml. It is made to drink from — coffee, tea, matcha.
