How Chiije Began

For over a decade, I made candles, diffusers, and home products for myself. Not as a business—as a practice. A way of being intentional about what entered my home, my air, and my space.

Friends noticed. They asked for candles. Then more friends asked. Then families.

And I realized: the desire for cleaner, more intentional home products isn't niche. It's universal. But finding them—truly clean, truly honest, truly beautiful—was harder than it should be.

So in November 2024, Chiije entered the world.

Not just as a product. As a philosophy. A belief that what we bring into our homes should nurture us—and that we deserve to know exactly what that is.

Meet Chisom

I'm an economist, strategist, author, and mother of two. I've spent decades advising Fortune 100 executives, designing global conferences, and speaking on leadership, sustainability, and economic development.

I also light candles every day. Set tables with intention. Create spaces that ground me.

For a long time, I kept these worlds separate—the strategist and the homemaker, the economist and the woman who believes in slowness. Not because they couldn't coexist, but because the world prefers simple narratives.

Chiije is my refusal to separate them.

Working inside global systems taught me how often we optimize for growth over care. Becoming a mother made that truth personal. I became more conscious of what entered my space, my air, my home—and I started choosing differently.

Chiije is my offering—to anyone who believes their home should nurture them. That strength and softness can coexist. That choosing better for your home is an act of self-respect.

You don't have to choose between seriousness and softness.

Neither do I
